She was a native of Cardington, Ohio, and had lived in Galion, OH, before moving to Bristol in 1974. She was a bus driver for the Bristol Virginia school system and was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. ADDINGTON, LENA K. KINGSPORT -- Lena K. Addington, 84, of 405 Merman Road died Tuesday, May 19, 1998, at her home. She was a native of Lebanon, grew up in St. Paul and had lived in Kingsport since 1941. She was a member of Central Sunrise Baptist Church, Blountville, and a former member of State Line Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for several years. She was the widow of A. F. ARNOLD, STACY Stacy Arnold, 71, of 305 Sunnybrook Drive, Bristol, TN, died Thursday, May 28, 1998, at his home. He was a native of Elizabethton and had lived most of his life in the Bristol area, and was a retired driver of ET& Freight Lines/Red Ball. After his retirement, he enjoyed working his small engine repair shop, boating, fishing and was an avid race car fan. BOYD, KATHERINE ANDERSON KINGSPORT -- Mrs. Katherine Anderson Boyd, 80, died Friday, May 8, 1998, in Wexford House. She was a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for 30 years and performed various other church functions. She was active in the Home Demonstration Club. BRADLEY, LAWRENCE G. Lawrence G. "Burrhead" Bradley Jr., of 205 Arch Street, Bristol, TN, died Sunday, May 24, 1998, at his home. He grew up in Princeton, WV, and was recently inducted into the Princeton High School Hall of Fame. He received a bachelor of arts degree from Concord College and a master's degree from West Virginia University. He excelled in football at Concord before and after World War II. During the war he was a captain in the Marine Corps, serving as a dive bomber pilot where he saw considerable action in the Philippines. "Burrhead" began his coaching career at Princeton High School, later moving to Graham High School, where he served 20 years as a football and basketball coach, athletic director and assistant principal. At Graham High School his 1956 Basketball Team won the Virginia State Championship, as did the 1962 Graham High School Football Team. Coach Bradley moved to the Bristol area in 1968 and started the football program at Sullivan East High School, where the team posted a 6-3-1 record in its second year. "Burrhead" touched countless young people in his 39-year coaching and teaching career. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Phyllis Bradley; one son, Larry R. Bradley, Salem, VA; one daughter, Kay B. Dudley, Bluefield, VA; his mother, Violet Bradley, Hinton. WV; one sister, Elaine Garten, Hinton, WV; and three grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of Beidleman's Presbyterian Church and was secretary/treasurer for eight years. She was an active member of the church Women's Circle, serving as secretary/treasurer for a number of years, and was an Adult Bible Class teacher. She was the widow of Parks W. He was a native of Shanghai, China, and arrived in America in 1948 as a scholarship student at the University of Detroit. He lived in California before returning to this area in the fall of 1997. WYATT, ANTHONY LEE ROGERSVILLE, TN -- Anthony Lee Wyatt, 25, of 852 Prices Grove Road, died Saturday, May 2, 1998, due to a drowning accident. He was a native of Bristol Tennessee and had made his home in Bristol prior to moving to Rogersville about a month ago. He was employed as an EMT with Churchill Ambulance Service, was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran and a member of the New Life Baptist Church, in Bluff City.
