John Thomas Buckles & Carrie Estelle Estep
John Thomas Buckles was born to John Matthew Buckles and Martha Ellen Vance Buckles in Sullivan County, Tennessee on April 7, 1874. He married Carrie Estelle Estep in Washington County, Virginia on September 28, 1897. Carrie Estelle Estep was the daughter of James Franklin Estep and Margaret Ramsey Estep. She was born in 1877. John and Estelle had eight children, three daughters, Bessie Lee, Sarah Corrine, and Madeline Margaret, and five sons, Carlos (Carl) Mayfield, Herman Clay, John Lewis, William Nave, and Robert Thomas. Carrie Estelle died in 1941 and John died two years later in 1943. They are both buried in Shelby Hill Cemetery, Bristol, Tennessee.
