1865 Maps of Stewart County

Thanks to the hard work of Chuck Allen and his scanner, and the generosity of Randy Rubel, we are pleased to share these maps of Stewart County, created by the Federal Army in 1865. (Therefore, these maps include present-day Houston County, and also part of Humphreys County.)

The map shows heads-of-household, waterways, roads, railroads, towns and landmarks. Chuck scanned and enlarged the map into these four images to make them large enough to read.

NOTE: These JPG images are LARGE (400Kb-600Kb), so the images may take some time to load.
