WILL OF ALEXANDER McKINNIS

April 26, 1839

 

In the name of God amen

I Alexander McKinnis of the County of Smith and State of Tennessee being now of perfect mind and memory but being advanced in years and knowing that by the irrevocable decrees of the wise providence it is ordained that all mankind should die I hereby make and ordain this my last will and Testament by these presents revoking all former wills and Testaments heretofore made by me

My will and desire is that all the property of which I may die possessed of shall remain in the hand & possession of my wife Delaney McKinnis during her natural life or widowhood. Then to be equally divided among my lawful heirs.  I do hereby nominate by these presents my son Hugh McKinnis and Thomas Gregory Sr executors of this my last will and Testament assigned and ackowledged to be the last will and testament of Alexander McKinnis before This the twenty sixth day of April one thousand eight hundred an thirty nine
