In 1860 census, Rebecca is listed as  57 , Mariah as 34 still at home,  a Mary E.  as 15.  In 1880 Rebecca is listed as  age 77, Mariah as 45, Mary E.  as 27--she could be a granddaughter.

2.  BROWN R.2 DAVIS (ISSAC H.1) was born Abt. 1835 in age 25 in 1860 census, and died April 15, 1863 in Home on medical leave-Union Army Was taken for a ride by relatives&wifes bros. was found hung in effigy .From Treasury Dept. Natl. Archives--died on or about date in rebel prison at Chattanooga, Tenn.  Apparently  his confederate relatives turned him in..  He married SUSAN FRANCES BRADLEY August 20, 1854 in Smith Co, Tenn., daughter of BENJAMIN BRADLEY and FRANCES LANCASTER.  She was born July 21, 1836 in Brush Creek, Tenn., age    33 in 1870 census, Alexandria, Tenn. 1 870 census, and died 1873 in Near Brush Creek,  TN, after husband taken by relatives--broken heart--children left orphans.

Fact 2: 1863, According to family history  he  was home on medical leave from Union army, was taken for a ride with relatives inc. wife's brothers and was found hung in effigy  next morning  as a traitor.  His body was not found.
