Tunstall's Spring - abt 1890
This old image of the big spring at Riddleton was made about 1890 by Willard Fergusson, which he
labeled "Tunstall's Spring," apparently for one of the early settlers. This source of fresh water
was used by all who lived thereabout since the first landowners came in the 18th century. It has
never been known to run dry and the latter photograph shows that it still runs crystal clear today.
The stream runs under highway 25 and into Bowman's Branch and Peyton's Creek.

The old photo belongs to Dennis Bowman and the new one was made January of 2004 by Bill Amonette
