b-1 Winship S. PETTY was born in North Carolina about 1803- (He was, of course, a son of Stephen PETTY of Chatham Co., North Carolina.) He married Mary CARLOSS, daughter of Edward CARLOSS of Chatham Co. Winship and Mary were in Tishomingo Co., Miss. in 1846 and moved to Hopkins Co., Texas in 1854, where in 1881 Winship PETTY died.

Carolina-died Dec. 14, 1869 in Franklin Co., Ala.- was married May 30, 1856 in
Hopkins Co., Texas to James S. BARTON.
They are listed in the 1860 census of Franklin Co., Ala.

3-Mary BARTON who married a Mr. Lee and went to Okla., where they had
several children whose names we do not know.
V-Edward Carloss PETTY born about 1837 in Ala. He lived at Como, Texas in 1895.
He was married to Alice Nancy WELLS of Miss. (She is listed with the family of Winship S. PETTY in the 1850 census for Hopkins Co., Texas
and was then 13, so she was born in 1837).

2-Mary M. (Maymie) PETTY born about 1878. She was married in 1895 to "Shake"

died unmarried.

March 25, 1848 to Francis Marion BROOKS.
They had Joseph J. BROOKS born 1849.
d-1 Betsy PETTY born Feb. 11, 1804- died Aug. 15, 1871. She married Gray BYNUM born Nov. 14, 1797- died March 24, 1867.

1-Winship BYNUM born May 12, 1830- died June 5, 1914. He married first Mary WICKS- second Floread
NORMAN.
2- Sarah Jane BYNUM born Aug. 9, 1834- died Nov. 22,
1862.

3, 1920.
4- Katherine BYNUM born may 26, 1838- died July 16,

7- George BYNUM the youngest child, was wounded while
fighting for the Southern Confederacy and died before reaching home. None of these except Winship BYNUM and Mary
BYNUM were ever married. Winship BYNUM
had several children but it is not known anything further about Mary BYNUM.

James E. PETTY son of Bassel and Virginia, and born 1868 (age 12 in 1880 census) has a son Thomas Leiland PETTY born Feb. 26, 1911.
Benjamin Max PETTY, son of William Ruffin PETTY and Cora McCLAIN married
Ruby Evelyn FERGUSON and they had :
