JOHN MORGAN KEMP HOMEPLACE CA. 1920
This is the homeplace of John M. and Virgie Allen Kemp, on Little Salt Lick Creek Road,
Difficult, Tennessee. John and his wife tore the old Asa and Mary Williams Kemp home
down and built this one, according to his daughter Beulah K. Jones. To the left of the house,
up on a rise in the back, sits the Kemp family grave yard. The house is believed to have been
built in 1916, the year their daughter Allie (Mrs.B.W. Ray) died.

Standing left to right are: Talitha Kemp Russell (Mrs. Ernest Russell), who died in their home
also on May 04, 1929, housekeeper Ms. Armistead, and John M. Kemp who died January 08, 1936.
He was the last surviving child of Asa & Mary Ann (Polly) Williams Kemp.
