Cal's Boyhood Home

Presently Owned By Mr. & Mrs.Glen Gregory.House Was Built In Circa 1892 By
Cal'S Father. People In Picture Are Grace And Dewey Dickerson.

CAL'S HOME IN 1913-14

Pictured is the house where Cal and Mai lived in 1913 and 1914. The house was located on
the Hudson Ellis Porter farm on Little Peyton's Creek one and one-half miles northwest of
Pleasant Shade. Cal makes references to this house in the "Cal's Column Articles" of Jan 29,
1948, Jan 14, 1954, Dec 28, 1954 and Jun 21, 1956.

The above picture was made in 1971 and the gentlemen pictured (l-r)
are Buie and Johnny Massey, sons of Baptist minister, C. B. Massey.
C. B. Massey also lived in this house in about 1912 and Johnny was
born here. Johnny still survives as of 12-30-02, is about 90 years old
and still retains his mental faculties. C. B. Massey is pictured in Cal's
website as well as in the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church pictures.

Cal's And Bettie's Home At 219 College Street, Lafayette, Tn.
Cal And Bettie Had Lived Here For Many Years And Cal Was Living
Here At The Time Of His Death. Bettie Lived The Rest Of Her Life Here.
