Warman Cemetery
The Warman Cemetery is located on a hill behind the house at # 130 Rawls Creek Road.
Only one broken stone was noted with no evidence of other burials.

Warman, J. B. 5 Nov 1859 - 17 Sept 1887
"A precious one from us has gone
A voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacant in our home
Than never can be filled."

Note: This is probably Joshua B.Warman listed in the 1860 Smith Co. census: Warman,
Canaway 46, Elizabeth 39, Martha E. 8, Thomas M. 6, Rachel B. 5 and Joshua B. 1

According to oral history in the Highers family Josh Warman was a law officer and a black
prisoner he had arrested attacked him. Josh died as result of the attack and the black man was
lynched. The Warman family then left Tennessee and moved to Kentucky.
