(Note: According to Cal's Column E.L.(Edward Luther) Smith was the son of
Abraham (Abel) Smith and wife Martha Dillehay. He was ordained a minister in
Oct. 1864 and was pastor of Mt.Tabor church for 23 years; Mt.Hope 5 years;
Salt Lick 5 years; Union 2 years; Ebenezer 5 years; and Sycamore Valley 8
years. He married on Aug 20, 1854 Mary E. Grinad, daughter of Foster and
Rebecca Sutherland Grinad. They were parents of three children. William C
"Lum" Smith (buried this cemetery); Martha Smith who married Samuel Oldham
(buried this cemetery); and Bettie Smith who married E.E.(Mann) Smith.)

Two names listed in Smith County Tennessee Cemeteries - North of the
Cumberland River page 123, Hiett M.M. 1851-1857 & Hiett, J.P. 1824 - 1856
can no longer be read. It is probable these were on a fieldstone in the cemetery.
