Rev. Thomas Wainwright Mathews 1852-1936 is buried in Martin Cemetery.
His second wife Ava Cage Mathews, 25 Sep 1855 - 27 Jan 1919, is buried
in a single grave cemetery in the front yard of a house in Kempville,
about 2 1/2 miles away.

(Smith County Cemeteries-North of the Cumberland River Page 182).

There is a interesting history of Rev. Mathews in Cal's Column on page
443. Cal states that when he was about 10 years old Rev. Mathews preached the
first sermon he ever heard.
