TAYLOR, CHESTER LEE – age 78, of Oneida, passed away Wednesday evening, November 15, 1989, at the Scott County Hospital following a lingering illness. Mr. TAYLOR was born October 9, 1911, Son of the late JOHN W. TAYLOR and the late MARY ELLEN WEST TAYLOR. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. Mr. Taylor was a member of the Baptist faith and was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He was a graduate of the Lincoln Memorial University. He was a retired school teacher and basketball coach, having taught in the Scott and Oneida School Systems for 40 years. He is survived by: wife, Mrs. SUSIE COLEMAN TAYLOR, Oneida; daughter SANDRA ROY and husband, CLEETIS ROY, of Stanton, Ky.; son, BOB TAYLOR and wife, SUSAN, of Oneida; granddaughters, JODIE LEE HALE, Stanton, Ky., CHRISTY ANN TAYLOR, Oneida; grandsons, JOHN TAYLOR HALE, Stanton, Ky., ROB TAYLOR, Oneida; two sisters MAYE GRAHAM, Kansas City, Mo., BELLE SEXTON, Harriman; brother PAUL TAYLOR and wife, MAUDIE, of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends. Funeral service for Mr. CHESTER LEE TAYLOR will be conducted from West-Murley Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, Rev. DALE SMITH officiating. Burial will follow in the Carson Memorial Park. The Oneida American Legion Post #136 will be in charge of full military honors at the graveside. The family will receive friends after 8 a.m. Saturday at West-Murley until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., GARY L. MURLEY of West-Murley Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements for Mr. CHESTER LEE TAYLOR. Pallbearers: HOMER BLEVINS, JAMES L. CARSON, BILL CHOATE, FRED CONATSER, CHARLES PHILLIPS and FRANK WEST.
