WILSON, TED Q. - "Services held Monday afternoon for Oneida Attorney Ted Q. Wilson." Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for TED Q. WILSON, a prominent local attorney who also had a brief career in politics on the local and state level. WILSON, a resident of Oneida, died Friday at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was 72. In addition to serving as an attorney for more than 44 years, WILSON served two terms in the Tennessee General Assembly, was elected as Scott County Circuit Court Clerk and served one term, and was appointed to the position of Scott County Service Officer to assistant military veterans and their dependants. A U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, WILSON's battle decorations included the Silver Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of American Legion Post 136 of Oneida, the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post 5669 of Oneida, Oneida Masonic Lodge No. 695, and the Shriners. WILSON held professional memberships in The American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Scott County Bar Association and The Society of American Trial Lawyers. He was licensed to practice law in all courts in Tennessee, and U.S. Federal Courts, as well as the Tennessee and U.S. Supreme Courts. He was born in Winfield on October 1, 1925, the son of the late WALTER and MARTHA WILSON. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, BESSIE STRUNK and ZONA STANLEY; a brother, FRED WILSON; a granddaughter, SARAH BANKSTON; and father-in-law, RUSSEL TROXEL. Survivors include his wife, BARBARA T. WILSON; son, RUSTY WILSON; daughter, NANCY BANKSTON; mother-in-law, NANNIE TROXEL; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services for Wilson were conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Jones and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. PHILIP KAZEE officiating. Music was provided by IRENE and THEA CHITWOOD. Burial followed in the Troxel Cemetery with military honors provided by an honor guard from American Legion Post 136 of Oneida. Serving as pallbearers were: TOMMY STRUNK CHARLES RENEAU, EUGENE BYRD, ROBERT MARLOW, HOWARD MARLOW, JOHNNY B. ACRES, Dr. LARRY PERRY and GEORGE TAYLOR. Honorary pallbearers were: CHRIS STRAIN, MARION WHEELER, MARK DILBECK and GEORGE ROARK. Special Masonic Services were conducted Sunday night at the funeral home. WOOLBRIGHT, MABLE - 85, of Chatsworth, Ga., and formerly of Oneida, died suddenly Monday morning, March 9, 1998, at the Columbia Murry Medical Center in Chatsworth. Born in New Harmony, Ind., on September 4, 1912, she was the daughter of the late JOHN M. and ELIZABETH EATON. She was of the Baptist faith. She also was preceded in death by her husband, ANDY WOOLBRIGHT; two daughters, DEE HARDIN and MARGARET CATANESE; one grandson, JIMMY KUHN.; and a son-in-law, BILL HARDIN. Survivors include three daughters: BETTY MCDANIEL and husband, WENDELL, of Crandall, Ga.; WINNIE PRUETTT and husband, MARK, of Chatsworth; and VICKI BROCK and husband, JOHN, of Conway, S.C.; two sons: RAY HOLLAND and wife, JENNY, of New Haven, Ill., and BOB HOLLAND of Crossville, Ill.; and a special granddaughter, LADONNA WATTERS and husband, STEVE, of Andersonville, Tenn. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services were conducted March 13, 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Rev. HERTIS PHILLIPS and Rev. CHUCK DUNCAN officiating. Special music was provided by JIM HEATH.
