LEWALLEN, JULUS - 62, died Friday, April 24, 1998, at the Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. He was born January 21, 1936, in Scott County and was the son of the late ED and FANNIE ELLIS LEWALLEN. He was a member and deacon of the West Oneida Baptist Church. He was a law enforcement officer for many years and was Scott County Sheriff from 1972 to 1976. He also was a member of his family gospel singing group, The Guardsmen. He also was preceded in death by one son, JOE LEWALLEN; one brother, HARVEY LEWALLEN; and two sisters, VERNA LEWALLEN and DESSIE LEWALLEN LEE. Survivors include his wife, BETTY JONES LEWALLEN; a son, TERRY LEWALLEN and wife FREEDA, of Helenwood; a daughter, LINDA LEWALLEN KING and husband CARL, of Robbins; four grandsons: TIMOTHY JOE LEWALLEN and wife, JENNIFER, from Georgia; TERRY LEE LEWALLEN and DUSTY LEWALLEN, both of Helenwood; and CARL BRANDON KING of Robbins; a granddaughter, BROOKE KING, of Robbins; and one great-grandson, JOEY LEWALLEN; five brothers: HARLEY LEWALLEN and wife, Alberta, of Indiana; CARLIE LEWALLEN and wife REBA, and JUNIOR LEWALLEN and BEATRICE, all of Robbins; BILL LEWALLEN and wife FREEDA, from Armithwaite; and DOCK LEWALLEN of Glenmary; a sister, DOLLY BOWLING of Oneida; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Monday at the West-Murley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. GUY AINSWORTH and Rev. DELBERT TERRY officiating. Burial was in the Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery.
