Thomas was the eldest son.  He married the daughter of John Donnell Foster
of Wilson County.  In the 1850's the family moved to Tyler, Smith County,
Texas.  His eldest son, Hugh L. Spain, married Maggie Roberts, the daughter
of Oran Milo Roberts who later became Governor of the State of Texas.

White Rock Rd., Conroe, TX 77306, a direct descendant of Hugh L. Spain
and Maggie E. Roberts.  The bible is leather bound, "Spain" printed on
front, brass corners and closure.  I copied the information by hand.
