General Joseph B. Palmer

Note that Joseph B. Palmer and Joseph Benjamin Palmer are the same person
(I'm mentioning this as there are two segments for him on the site that I
have submitted in case you want to make it all one.
Gen. Jospeh Benjamin Palmer, C.S.A. is the grandson of my ancestor Joseph
B. Johns and Elizabeth Vaughn Johns.
This appears at the bottom of the info listed under Joseph B. Palmer:
From the Division of the land of Joseph B. Johns (Deed Book 2, pg. 96) it
mentions Joseph B. Palmer, grandson with guardian Varner Cowan. Caroline
Mildred Smith (granddaughter) with Samuel Smith as her guardian. I
am trying
to place this relationship with Caroline as perhaps daughter of Mildred
Ann
Johns Palmer and Samuel Smith.) Ernest K. Johns has a Smith genealogy
that
states Caroline had a 1/2 brother. Caroline was born April 7, 1833
and
Mildred Smith died April 7, 1833.

Item I found in Rutherford Co. Historical Soc. Pub. #19, Summer 1982 (contributed
by Ernest K. Johns):
From Murfreesboro paper "The Courier, Vol. II, #85 Wednesday Feb. 16, 1831"
Petition for divorce - Mildred Palmer has petitioned the court for a divorce
from William H. Palmer. They were married in June 1823 and they have
one child. Wm. H. Palmer now lives in another state.
