My name is Estelle Wright Parrish Hall. My mother
is Ida Lee Johns Wright. Her parents were William Boone Johns
and Alice Estelle Lester Johns. The following info follows along Wm.
Boone Johns' line. To try to organize let's begin with Richard Johns
who was born in England or Wales abt. 1640 and died in King William Co.
VA in 1703. He married a Jane Fox b. abt. 1648 in England who died
in VA abt. 1704. They had eleven children (all born in VA). One
of these children was a son named William b. abt. 1673. He had three
sons named John, Jacob, and of course William. Now this William was
born abt, 1708 in King William Co., VA. William had a wife named Ann
and they produced eleven children. Of his eleven children we
are dealing with Thomas b. 1752 VA and of course another William b. 1740,
also in VA. To make things even more confusing Thomas and William marry
cousins. Thomas marries Garterhood Glover and William marries Ann
(Hannah) Glover. (Another brother, John, married Garterhoods sister
Elizabeth Glover.) Thomas and Garthy have 8 children; four girls
and four sons. My direct ancestor Joseph B. Johns b. 1776 along with
Abraham b. abt. 1780, Isaac b.abt. 1783, Jacob b. abt. 1785, Elizabeth,
Mary Merriman, Sarah(Sally) and Judith. William, who married Ann
Glover, produces 3 sons named Edmund Glover, John and Abner. These
seven young men and Ann Glover Johns venture to Middle Tennessee in the
early part of the first decade of 1800. Joseph B. Johns had married
in 1801 in Halifax Co., VA to Elizabeth Vaughn (Vaughan) Their first
son, what else but William, is born in 1802 in Tennessee.

Sarah Ann Elizabeth Johnsb: 23 MAY 1819
in Rutherford Co., TN
I am submitting all of the records I have obtained from the clerks
office and archives in Murfreesboro on the seven who came to middle Tennessee
along with whatever other information I have been able to obtain on them
from other sources.
For anyone interested in further research on this Johns Family
