W. H. Worsham, merchant in District No. 8, Sumner County, was born in Robertson County, in 1853. He is one of eight children of Robert and Abby (Dorris) Worsham. The father, born in Pittsylvania County, Va., in 1828, and reared on a farm, has been merchandising at Worsham, Tenn., for about sixteen years past. The mother was born in 1832. Having attended the common schools, he began for himself when of age as salesman for Truett Sons, and for Morgan in Rosebank and elsewhere, where he was employed five years. In December, 1881, he married Elizabeth, daughter of W. W. and Sarah A. Douglass and born in Sumner County, in July, 1858. Their three children are Lula F., Robert D. and Henry B. Mr. W. is a Democrat politically, and a member of the F. & A. M. order. Since 1879 he has been engaged in his present successful business.
