         For and in consideration of the sum of Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars cash in hand to us paid by H.G. Gilbert the receipt of which is herby acknowledged we J.T. Wilson and wife S.E. Wilson have bargained and sold, and by these presents do transfer and ___ unto the said H.G. Gilbert, His heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land in the 2nd Dist., Robertson County, State of Tennessee, as follows:
         Beginning at a stone in Middle of Cross Plains and Adairvile road in C.C. Berry’s line, thence South 51 ½ E. 36 1/6 poles to a stone in said road, thence S. 37 ½ W 16 poles to a stone, thence N 51 ½ W 21 poles, 15.6 links to a stone in C.C. Barry’s line, thence N 1 E 19 poles 7 links to the beginning containing 2 acres 115 poles more or less.
         To HAVE AND TO HOLD the said tract or parcel of land, with the appurtenances, estate, title, and interest thereto belonging, to the said H.G. Gilbert, his heirs and assigns, forever. And we do covenant with the said H.G. Gilbert that we are lawfully seized and possessed of said land in fee simple; have a good right to convey it, and the same is unencumbered.
         And we do further covenant and bind our selves our heirs and (assigns?) to warrant to forever defend the title to the said land to the said H.G. Gilbert his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims of all persons whomever.
Witness our hands, this 21st day of August, 1907.

STATE OF TENNESSEE ROBERTSON COUNTY
         Personally appeared before me, R.H. Felts, a Notary Public in and for said County and State, the within named J.T. Wilson and S.E. Wilson the bargainers, with whom I am personally acquainted, and who acknowledged that they executed the within instrument for the purposes therein contained.
         And S.E. Wilson wife of the said J.T. Wilson, having appeared before me privately and apart from her husband, the said S.E. Wilson acknowledged execution of the said Instrument to have been done by her freely, voluntarily, and understandingly, without compulsion or constraint from her said husband, and for the purposes therein expressed.
