         We P. D. Summerville & John Stringer of the County of Robertson State of Tennessee District No. 2 have this day & sold and do hereby transfer & convey to Joshua D. Arnold a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Robertson State of Tenn Dist No. 2 containing ninety acres more or less bounded as follows to wit; beginning on a hickory on the Spring bluff running South 94 poles to a Stone thence west 77 3/4 poles to a blackjack thence South 6 poles to a Post Oak Thence West 46 1/2 poles To a rock in the old field Thence North 102poles with Stone & Babb's line to a Stone Thence East with Babb's line 24 poles to Post Oak and pointers thence north with said line 24 poles to a post oak & pointers Babb's corner, Thence South 53 degree East 24 1/2 pole to a white Oak thence South 11 poles to the beginning. For the sum and consideration of one thousand and ninety five dollars to us in hand paid by the Said Joshua Arnold the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged we do bind ourselves our heirs Executors & Administrators to warrant and defend the title of the same to the said J. Arnold, his heirs forever we do further covenant with the said Arnold that we are fully seized of the said land & we have a good rite to convey the same given under our hand and seal this July the 19, 1864.

         Personally appeared before me R. H. Murphey, Clerk of the County Court of said County. J. W. Berry 6 Jan'y 1871 and Wm Cunningham subscribing Witnesses to the attached Deed who being first duly Sworn, depose and Say that they are personally acquainted with the above named P. D. Summerville & John Stringer the bargainers and that they acknowledged the same in their presence to be their act and deed for the purposes therein contained.
Witness my hand at office this 6th day of Jan'y 1871.
