         This Indenture made this 10th day of March in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty six between Henry Elmore, Samuel Shannon, Hugh Shannon, Jas. Shannon, William Finley, Richard Chowning, Jesse Shannon, and Patsy Shannon of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the one part and William Shannon of the County & State aforesaid of the other part witnessth that for and in Consideration of the sum of three hundred & twenty dollars to the said first part in hand, paid by the said William Shannon before the sealing and delivering those present the receipt and payment whereof is here by acknowledged, hath given, granted, bargained, sold, conveyed, and confirmed and by those present do give, grant, bargain, sell, atain, convey and confirm quit claims and set over to the said William Shannon all the rights to the Claims and interest we the first mentioned part has in and to the following tract or parcel of Land to wit, situate, lying and being in the said County of Robertson on the waters of the Red River butted and bounded as follows to wit:
         :Beginning at William Coles, South west corner a frost oak running north 29 poles to Coles other Corner, Thence East 30 poles to a hickory and black oak to Patsy Shannon Corner, thence North 125 poles to a stake in McCullahs line East 27 poles to a frost oak, and black oak Jesse Shannons Corner. thence North 115 poles to a black oak, thence West 52 poles to a frost oak on Andersons Corner Stake. Thence West with his line 230 poles to Henry Elmores line formerly Calle Summanses line, thence South with said line 128 poles to his north east Corner, thence North 80 poles to a stake. Thence East to the Beginning 12 poles Containing by Estimation 180 acres more or less. To have and to hold to the said William Shannon his heirs and assigns for ever and the first mentioned part in this Deed doth bind themselves their heirs, executors and administrators, to warrant and forever defend the right and title of the before Receipted Land and bargained promises to the said William Shannon his heirs & to be free and Clear from all encumbrances and prove the Just Claim of the said first part, and their heirs and from all persons Claiming through by or under them but not otherwise. In witness whereof the said first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

         :This Indenture from James Shannon, William Finley, Jesse Shannon, Samuel Shannon, Rich’d Chowning, Henry Elmore, Hugh Shannon, & Patsy Shannon to William Shannon was proven in open Court by the oath of Reuben Cole a subscribing witness thereto also the death and hand writing of Wm. Cole the other subscribing witness was proven by oath of Reuben Cole and the same ordered to be Registered.
