         This Indenture made this twenty fourth of February one thousand eight hundred and twenty three between Benjamin Roney of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the one part, and Leroy Gossett of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars in hand to him paid the said Benjamin Roney, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have this day bargained, sold and confirmed unto the said Leroy Gossett a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County and State aforesaid, and on the waters of Red River, and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning on a double hickory the North East corner of William Fisher's land, running North six poles to a black jack, thence West forty poles to a hickory, thence South twelve poles to a black jack, Thence West ninety seven poles to a black jack, thence South to said William Fisher's line to a stake, thence East to the Beginning, containing forty four acres, one hundred and thirty five poles, be the same more or less, and the said Benjamin Roney doth forever warrant and defend the right and title of said tract or parcel of land forever from himself his heirs creditors and adminstrators & assigns, with all and every appurtenance thereunto belonging against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever to the said Leroy Gossett his heirs and assigns forever according to the true interest and meaning of these presents. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, the the day & year above written. Received 14th Oct 1850, at 3 Ock PM.

         I as clerk of the Count Court of said County do certify that this deed from Benjamin Roney to Lerory Gossett was this day produced to me in my office and Thomas Beaucampe who has this day witnessed the same, & to the Witness Martain Blaine who subscribed the same being sworn states upon oath that he and said Blain several years ago were partners in the mercantile business in said County, that he has seen said Martin Blain write repeatedly and is of the opinion that his signature above is in his hand wrighte and is genuine from the general acquaintance that he had had with it, all of which is duly certified to all whome therefor _____ shall corine. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed seal in Franklin Cty, this 11 day of October AD 1850.

         Personally appeared before me Joseph E. Winfield clk of the County Court for said County George B. Blaine subscribing witnesses to the within named deed, who being first sworn depose and say that he was acqauainted with Benjamin Roney the bargainor and that he acknowledged the same in his presents to be his act and deed upon the day it bears date, also for the purpose of the ____________ of Martin Blaine personally appeared before me George P. Blaine who being first sworn depose and say that he was acquainted with Martin Blain whose whose name appears to this deed as a subscribing witness also his hand written and that the signature purporting to be his are genuine and in his own hand writing. Witness my hand at office this 14 Oct 1850.
