North Carolina Grant No. 377 to William Hood 1784.
         To all to whom these presents shall come greetings. Know ye, that we for and in consideration of two pounds for every hundred acres hereby grant give and by these presents do give and grant unto the said William Hood a tract of land containing Six hundred and forty acres lying and being in our County of Davidson, on Richland Creek, about Four Miles below the War Trace: Beginning on the North side of said Creek, at a hickory; running South two hundred and forty two poles to a poplar; thence North two hundred and twenty seven poles to a black oak; thence East four hundred and fifty two poles to the Beginning, as by the plat hereunto annexed, doth appear together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments and appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining.
         To have and to hold to the said William Hood, his heirs and assigns forever which land was surveyed March the 2d 1785, by Sq. Grant, D.S. by virtue of a warrant dated February 16th 1784, and No. 289.
