         This Indenture made this 7th day of March 1840 between Robert Millikin, Executor and Annis Millikin Executrix of Jesse Millikin dec'd of the County of Simpson and State of Kentucky of the one part and Daniel Arnold of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Robert Millikin and Millikin executors & executrix of Jesse Millikin dec'd for and in consideration of the sum of nine hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sold and confirm unto the said Daniel Arnold his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situated and being in the County of aforesaid on the waters of Summers branch of the Red River containing one hundred eightynine & half acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows Viz: beginning at a rock on the North bank of Summers branch running thence due North 120 poles to a Hickory thence due West 161 1/2 poles to a Hickory thence due South 154 poles to a large Elm thence up Summers branch to the mouth of the spring branch with its meander to a Walnut and South 19 East 85 to a rock near a spring to include said so as to include said spring poles thence due East 114 poles to a Hickory corner to House thence due North 48 poles to a post Oak thence due West 252 poles to rock, corner to Chism, thence North 36 poles crossing the branch to the beginning, together with all and singular the premises with the Appurtences thereunto belonging to have and to hold the land hereby conveyed unto the said Daniel Arnold his heirs and assigns forever and the said Robt. Millikin any Anny Millikin Executor & Executrix of Jesse Millikin deceased for themselves, their heirs, Executors & Administrators the aforesaid tract of land and premises unto the said Daniel Arnold his heirs or assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or person whatsoever doth and will warrant and forever defend the (balance of this deed not copied but is on page 372).
