7 February 1818
         This indenture made this seventh day of February eighteen hundred and eighteen between Joseph Payne of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the one part and David West of the other part of the County and State aforesaid (_____) (___) that the said Joseph Payne for and in consideration of the natural love and affection that the said Payne bears to said West his son-in-law a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and sixty acres of land be the same now or (_____) lying and being on the south fork of Red River in Robertson County and State of Tennessee and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at a red oak and running north on conditional line between said West and Gideon Payne to a poplar and red bud thence east one hundred and five poles to a red oak and black gum thence south two hundred and forty two poles to a stake thence west one hundred and five poles to the beginning together with all its appurtenances to the said David West his heirs and assigns to the whole use and behalf of him the said West and his heirs and the said Joseph Payne for himself his heirs hold the said tract or parcel of land and premises with all its appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof to the said David West heirs and assigns against all persons whatsoever shall and will warrant acquit and forever defend by these presents aforesaid.
