         I William P. Jernigan have this day bargained and sold, and do hereby transfer and convey to William Empson and his heirs forever for the consideration of four hundred dollars to me paid, for a tract of land in the State of Tennessee Robertson County, District No. 11, containing by estimation twenty acres, be the same more or less, and bounded as follows: Beginning on a white oak, thence East one hundred and thirty seven poles to a rock Braden Jernigan’s, thence North seven poles to a dogwood, thence East fifty poles to a red oak near the race ????, thence South with the meanders of the said to John Gilberts North boundary line, thence West with the said Gilberts line to the creek, thence North with the meanders of the same to a persimon corner, thence North 38 degrees West fifty mine poles to the Beginning, To have and to hold the same to the said William Empson, his heirs and assigns forever. I do covenant with the said William Empson that I am lawfully seized of said land, have a good right to convey it and that the same is unencumberred. I do further covenant and bind myself my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land and every part thereof to the said William Empson, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever, this 26th day of April 1853.          Personnaly appeared before me Robt H. Murphey clk of the County Court for said County, William P. Jernigan to the bargainor to the within deed to me well known, and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein contained. Witness my hand at office the 21st of July 1853.
