         This indenture and entered into between Adam Grimes of the one part and Zachariah Durham of the other part and both of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee this 2nd day of September eighteen hundred & twenty six.
         Witnesseth that the said Adam Grimes for and in consideration of the sum of fifty [$50] dollars in hand paid before the signing of these presents the receipt whereof the said Grimes doth acknowledge hath granted bargained sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said Zachariah Durham his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Robertson and State aforesaid here particularly described the premises and appurtenances and all the estate right title interest property claim and demand of said Grimes of no and to same to have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed with all and singular the premises and every part and parcel thereof with every of the appurtenances unto the said Zechariah Durham heirs and assigns forever and the said Adam Grimes for his heirs, executoras and Administrators do covenant promise and agree to and with the said Zechariah Durham heirs and assigns by these presents that the premises be hereafter mentioned to wit:
         Beginning and lying on the waters of Sycamore Creek and bounded as follows to said beginning at a small black ?sapling? Samuel Durham's north east corner running with his line West one hundred fourteen (114) poles to two poplars and two black gums in said line, Thence north seventy poles to a dogwood and red oak in Long's line, Thence East with his line one hundred and fourteen (114) poles to a poplar the Southeast corner of said Long's tract of land, Thence South seventy (70) poles to the beginning containing fifty (50) acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with all the improvements thereon to remain free from all and every other person or persons whatsoever claiming from all former and other gifts grants bargains sales dowers right and title of dower judgment ?executions? titles troubles charges and incumbrances whatsoever done or suffered to be done by the said Adam Grimes and the said Grimes and heirs all and singular the premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said Zachariah Durham heirs and assigns against the said Adam Grimes and heirs and all every other person or persons whatsoever claiming , I the said Adam Grimes doth and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
In witness whereof I the said Adam Grimes do set my hand and seal.
