         I Adam Grimes of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee have this day bargained and sold unto Levi Binkley of the County and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars ($250) to me paid by the said Levi Binkley a certain tract or parcel of land, situated, lying and being in District No 15 of said County and State on the Waters of Spring Creek and Sycamore & Adjoing the land of W.L Gower, Thomas Harris & others butted and bounded as follows viz.
         Beginning at a sowerwood? stump & a poplar marked A & a pointer running North five degrees East crossing a spring in all 52 poles to a chestnut stump, Thence North thirty degrees west 20 poles to a stake, Thence North 11 degrees East 98 poles to a poplar and dogwood, Thence East 60 poles to a red oak, Thence South 20 degrees East forty poles to a black gum, Thence North 84 degrees East forty poles to a red oak, Thence South 60 poles to a hickory, Thence South 20 degrees East 78 poles to a large white oak, Thence West 104 poles to the Beginning containing 115 acres by survey, be the same more or less, I, Adam Grimes bind myself my heirs & assigns to warrant and forever defend the title of said land to Levi Binkley his heirs & assigns and I do further covenant with said Levi Binkley that said land is free from encumbrances.
         In witness whereof I hereunto affix my hand and seal this 28th day of December AD 1849. Recorded 28 Dec 1850 at 2 ock pm .

State of Tennessee Robertson County,
         Personally appeared before me Joseph E. Winfield clk of county court forsaid county Z. Durham on 10 Jun 1850 & J.C. Nowlin on the present day, subscribing witnesses to the written named deed, who being first sworn depose and say that they are acquainted with A. Grimes the bargainor and that he acknowledged the same in their prescnes to be his act and deed upon the day it bears date. Witness my hand at office this 28 Day of Dec 1850.
