         I Samuel Gilbert have this day bargained, sold, and do hereby convey To William Brook & his heirs forever for the consideration of one thousand fifty dollars to me paid, a tract of land in the State of Tennessee Robertson County District No. 11, containing by estimation one hundred seventy eight acres, be the same more or less, and bounderes as follows. Beginning four poles North of the branch in two white oaks, running East 218 poles to two black oaks __________ Red Tates line, thence North 171 poles to a black oak Red Tates corner, thence West 153 poles to a hickory, thence South 18 poles to a white oak, thence West 15 poles to a hickory by the branch, thence South with the meanders of the branch 80 poles to a walnut John Gilberts corner, thence West 13 poles to a stake, thence South with John Gilberts line to a black oak, thence South 70 degrees East 22 poles to a black oak, thence South 35 degrees West 40 poles to the Beginning corner. To have and to hold to the said William Brook his heirs & assigns forever. I do covenant with the said Brook that I am lawfully seized of said lands, have a good right to convey it, that the same is unimcumbered. I do further covenant, bind myself any heirs legal representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land and every part there of to the said Brook his heirs & assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatever. The 18 day of Nov 1850.

         Personally appeared before me Joseph V. Winfield clk of the County Court for said County S. Gilbert the within named bargainor with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that he executed the within deed for the purpose therein contained. Witness my hand at office this 12 day of February 1851.
