         I, Samuel Gilbert, have this day bargained and sold, and do hereby transfer and convey to James Empson, and his heirs and assigns forever, for the consideration of one hundred and forty three 70/100 Dollars to me paid, a tract of land, in the State of Tennessee, Robertson County and District No. 15, and containing thirty acres one and ¾ poles, be the same more or less, and bounded as follows: Beginning on a black persimmon in the North boundary line of the land that formerly belonged to John Gilbert, dec’d, thence running North 89 ¾ West one hundred and twenty five poles to the C___ of the Creek William Empsons corner, thence South with the meanders of said Creek to a sycamore ____ in the fork of the Creek, thence with the meanders of the East fork to a ____ ____, thence North 25 East seventy two and ½ poles to the beginning, To have and to hold the same to the said James Empson, his heirs and assigns forever. I do covenant with the said James Empson, that I am lawfully seized of said land, have a good right to convey it, and that the same is unencumbered. I do covenant and bind myself, heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land and every part thereof to the said James Empson, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatever. Gilbert, the bargainer, with whom I am personally acquainted, and the acknowledged that he executed the _____ instrument for the purposes therein contained. Witness my hand at office, this 9th day Feby 1869.
