Searcy Estice & his wife Milly have this day bargained & sold and do hereby transfer and convey to Bolivar Payne & his heirs forever, for the consideration of fifteen dollars, 0 cts. to be paid, a tract of land in the State of Tennessee Robertson County and district No. 1 being lot No. 2. Containing by estimation 10 acres & 64 poles. Beginning on a stake, runs west 13 poles to a stake, thence south 128 poles to a hickory bush & pointers, thence east 13 poles to a black oak & hickory, thence north 128 poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the same to the said Bolivar Payne his heirs and assigns forever, we do covenant with the said Bolivar Payne that we are lawfully seized of said land, have a good right to convey it and that the same is unencumbered, we do further covenant & bind ourselves, our heirs & representatives to warrant & forever defend the title the said land and every part thereof to the said Bolivar Payne, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatever, this 6th day of May 1848.

Personally appeared before me Joseph Winfield clerk of the County Court for said County Searcy Estice the within named bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted who acknowledged that he executed the within deed for the purposes therein contained, and Milly Estice the feme covert having also appeared before me, privately and apart from her husband the said Searcy Estice and acknowledged the execution of said deed to have done by her freely, voluntarily and understandingly without compulsion or restraint from her said husband & for the purposes therein expressed, Witness my hand at office this 6th day of May 1848.
