         This Indenture made this Six of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six between Francis Durrett of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the one part and Gregory Empson of the County and State aforesaid of the other part.
         Witnesseth that the said Francis Durrett for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five dollars & twenty five cents to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold and conveyed unto the said Gregory Empson a certain tract or parcel of land situate in the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee on the Waters of red river Beginning at a red oak said Empsons West corner running West Seven poles to a stake and three black oaks pointers in Holemans South boundary line thence South Eighty six 2/3 to a stake and pointers thence East Eleven poles to a black oak said Empsons corner thence North with said Emsons line to the beginning eighty five and two third poles Containing five acres and one hundred and forty two poles more or less to have and to hold the above described premises with all & singular hereditaments and appertaining the said Gregory Empson his heirs & assigns forever and the said Francis Durrett doth covenant with the said Gregory Emson his heirs and assigns that at the time of ???ing of the above indenture promises he was lawfully seized in fee simple with the right to sell & convey the same in manner and form aforesaid, and that he will warrant and defend the said premises with all and singular the appurtenances to the said Gregory Emson his heirs and assigns forever against the legal claim or claims of the said Francis Durrett his heirs and assigns or other persons whatever. In Witness whereof the said Francis Durrett hath set his hand and seal the day and date above written.
