         This Indenture Made this 13th Day of June in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine Between Jacob Brown, John Rule, Francis Byrd, John Pike, James Pike, Elizabeth Bird and Thomas Byrd Legatees of the late Thomas Byrd Deceased of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the one part and Valentine Choat of the County and State aforesaid on the other part. Witnesseth that the sd Jacob Brown, John Rule, Francis Byrd, John Pike, James Pike, Elizabeth Byrd and Thomas Byrd have for and in Consideration of the Sum of three hundred Dollars to them in hand paid by the said Valentine Choat, the Receipt whereof the Do hereby acknowledge and confess have Bargain and Sold and by these presents Do bargain and Sell unto the said Valentine Choat all that tract and parcell of Land Lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on Gilberts fork of Red River and butting and bounding as follows: that is to say Beginning on a Spanish Oak and gum the Northwest Corner of David Beard’s Survey and running South one hundred and twenty two poles to a Walnut and white oak thence north seventy eight and a half Degrees East Ninety four poles to a hickory thence North Six Degrees East five poles to a white oak thence North Seventy four and a half Degrees East one hundred and Sixty four poles to a Spanish oak and baywood thence North fifty eight poles to two Black Oaks thence West two hundred and fifty two poles to the Beginning Containing one hundred and thirteen and a third acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the said Bargained Land and premises thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining and to Warrant and forever Defend the Same against the Claim or Claims of all and every person whatsoever unto the said Valentine Choat his heirs and assignes forever in fee simple in whereof the said Jacob Brown, John Rule, Francis Byrd, John Pike, James Pike, Elizabeth Byrd and Thomas Byrd have hereunto Set their hand, and Seals this Day and Year above written.
