         This indenture made this ninth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four between Lewis BARKER of the State of Kentucky and county of Livingston of the one part & Alexander Gordon of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the other part witnesseth that for the consideration of the sum of five hundred and fifty dollars in hand paid to the said BARKER the receipt whereof is hereby fully acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed, confirmed  & by these presents covenant, bargain, sell, alien, convey & confirm unto the said Alexander GORDON his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Robertson containing two hundred acres be the same more or less on Red River beginning at the said BARKER's beginning corner white oak on the state line, runs South forty poles to McADOO's line, thence West with said line 170 poles to a red oak then South with said line two poles to a stake & small bush marked in said McADOOE's line, thence a line agreed on between Joseph McDOWEL on said GORDON North eighty acre and half, East forty seven poles to two spanish oaks, thence South forty, East thirty two poles to the Spring Branch thence South seventy two East crossing the said branch forty five poles to a small cherry tree in said BARKER's old plantation, thence North forty five, East seventy seven poles to a post oak North eighty one half, East one hundred poles to a stake in the BARREN's North one hundred and twenty poles to a stake in the State line, thence with the State line South seventy four degrees West four hundred and forty four poles to the beginning with the appurtenances & all rents and profits to him belonging or appertaining to have and to hold the said land and premises hereby granted with the appurtenances unto the said Alexander GORDON his heirs & assigns forever and the said Lewis BARKER for himself his heirs, exrs & admr doth by these presents warrant & defend the said land & premises to him the said Alexander GORDON, his heirs and assigns forever, In witness whereof the said Lewis BARKER hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the day & year first above written.
