I Sophronia Berry of the County of Robertson & State of Tennessee, being of sound mind and memory do make and ordain, this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all other by me at any time made.
Item 1st, It is my will and desire after my death that my Executor’s shall have full power to sell all of my perishable property, and pay my burial expenses and debts if there should be any, and if there be any money over the payment of my debts divide it equally between my three children, deducting from Gertrude’s share one hundred and thirty dollars which I have given her since her marriage.
Item 2nd, It is my will and desire that my Executor’s shall have full power and authority to divide the tract of land on which I live into three lots each lot to contain the same number of acres, and divide them between my three children giving to Thomas the lot on which my dwellings stand.
Item 3rd, for reasons satisfactory to myself, it is my will and desire that the portion of land which I give to my daughter Gertrude be her’s to have and to hold during her lifetime, and at her death it shall go to the heirs of her body, but if she die childless it shall go back to and be equally divided between my other two children.
Item 4th, It is my will and desire that my Executor’s shall have full control of Mary Jane’s property which I give to her during her single life, and see that she draws a comfortable support therefrom.
Item 5th, I nominate and appoint my worthy friends, Thomas D. Berry and Columbus C. Barry Executor’s of this instrument.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 12th day of Jan 1877.
