         Be it remembered that I Mary Newton of Robertson County State of Tennessee being of sound and disposed mind and memory thanks be given to God calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make this my last will and Testament and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life after the death of my husband George Newton. I give (devise?) and dispose of the same in the following manner and form Viz
         First it is my will that my funeral expenses be first paid.
         Item I give and bequeath unto my son George Newton thirty three Dollars out a note hold on Albert Riggs of ninety five & fifty cents. the said thirty three dollars is to be paid to said George Newton as follows three dollars a year until the whole sum is paid to him by said Riggs. Also I do bequeath to the above named George Newton Sixty Six dollars out of a Note of two Hundred Dollars I hold on my Son John Newton. The said Sixty six Dollars is to be paid to Said George Newton By John Newton as follows _____

Six dollars a year until the whole sum is paid to said George Newton. I also do bequeath unto said George Newton my cow and calf and two feather beds and furniture with a Rug and a white and check counterpain and a blanket also a big Bible and three volumes Tom Jones. The said Bible is to be given to my son John Newton at the death of my exc George Newton.
         I also do bequeath to my son George Newton a Brass tea kettle one pewter dish two pewter plates a pewter bason and half a dozen pewter spoons and one skillet with a bead and a copper mill also a big glass bottle.
         Item I give and bequeath unto my Granddaughter Mary Heart Newton (Note: this must be John's eldest daughter mentioned in his will as Polly H. Newton) a feather bed with a net work. Also my cloke and all my wearing appearel Except such as I shall hereafter bequeath to others.
         Item I give and bequeath unto my son John Newton all the rest of my houshould furniture also all my stock of hogs and their increase. I also bequeath to Elizabeth Newton wife of John Newton my Saddle.
         Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Letty Baldwin my Black frock, black cap dreped.

         Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Sally Riggs my big coat pattern or coat if it be made.
         Item I give and bequeath to my son James Newton a book by the name of Boston.
         Item I give and bequeath to my Son Henry Newton a book called business Law and Grace unfaded and one he has now called the Arabian knight Entertainment.
         I give and bequeath unto Robert Newton my Son a book called Fishers young mans best companion also a book of David Psalms
         Item I give and bequeath unto my son John Newton above named the balance of the note I hold on him after George Newtons part is taken therefrom the Balance being One hundred & thirty four dollars
         Item I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Mary Newton Riggs ten dollars to be paid to her when she gets married or becomes of the age of maturity paid to her by Albert Riggs.
         Item I do give and bequeath to Albert Riggs above named the balance of the Note I hold over him after George Newton's and Mary Newton Riggs part being taken therefrom the said balance being fifty two Dollars & fifty cents.

Three dollars thirty three cents and one third is Erassed as it was inserted in mistake and four dollars inserted in to place as you see above.
         I do Constitute make and Ordain my son George and John Newton Sole Executors of this my last will & testament. I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments wills legacies bequeath & Executors by me in any wise before mentioned and willed & bequeathed ratifying and conferring to and no other to be my last will & Testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth of August 1822
