I William Fuqua of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee being of sound and disposing mind and memory and being conscious of the uncertainty of human life do hereby make and appoint this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all wills heretofore by me made.
FIRST It is my will and desire that my executor pay all my just debts and fund all expenses out of the first money that my come into his hands.
SECOND It is my will and desire that my wife Mary C Fuqua have the use and --- during her natural life or widowhood the tract of land on which I now live including all the improvements thereon and also I giver her during her life or widowhood, 2 featherbes, bed steads, furnityre, bureau, 1 sugar chest, 1 communion size table, 6 chairs, 1 loom, 1 large pot, 1 small kettle, 1 large oven, 1 skillet, 1 pair of cotton cards, flax hackle, looking glass, 1 tea kettle, 1 --- clock, 1 cotton wheel, 1 flax wheel, 2 pair of andirons, 2 smoothing irons, all the cupboard ware and copper ware, 1 cow and yearlings, 3 ewes and lambs, 1 sow and pigs, 6 head of hogs and 1 horse bridle and saddle. I also give her one years provisions for family and stock. I also give her my crop that is now growing. Frederick G Gulledge gets his portion agreeables and contract. I also give er -------- axe and weeding hoe, and al lthe wool, cotton and flax that is ours, and alsoo 1 large chest, and all the poultry of all -----.
At the death or marriage of my wife, my will and desire is that my son Samuel shall have the tract of land above, and all the balance of my property named above to be sold and equally divided between my three daughters, Polly Gulledge, Rebecca Vick and Delila Murray. It is my will and desire that all the balance of my property of --- less----that has not been named above shall be sold on ---- ---- ---- the proceeds thereof after paying all of my just debts to be equally divided between my three daughters, Polly, Rebecca and Delila. I am security to a note given by F.G. Gulledge to H. Beasley for the sum of 45 or 50 dollars and if said note should have to be paid out of my estate, my will and desire is that it shall be paid out of the part given to my daughter Polly Gulledge.
LASTLY I appoint my son Samuel and Elijah Willis my executors to this my last will and testament disowning all other will heretofore made, in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 13th day of May 1848.
