         Know all Men by their presents that We John B. Chatham, Josiah Fort, Elias Fort Jr, William Deloach, John Hutchinson, Augustine Cook & Joseph Castleberry of the County of Robertson & State of Tennessee are & firmly bound unto his Excellency John Sevier Esqr Governor in & over said State or his successor in office or assign in the Int. sum of Three Thousand Dollars which payment will and truly to be made and done. We bond ourselves our heirs Executors, & Administrators and any of them l____ntly if severally firmly by these present Witness our hand & seal this Seventh day of May 1806 and XXX year of our Independence.
         The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound John B. Chatham, Sheriff of Robertson County, do w____ & truly collect from the several Inhabitants of said County or others, all public or County Taxes of what nature soever, which according to Law he ought to collect of T______ agreeable to such Lists of Taxes as may be put into his hand for that purpose, or otherwise from such collectors as may by the said County Court be appointed to Collect the same, and shall we & truly account for & pay the same, or of like kind and on like proportion with Manis or Certification by him so T_______d to such person or persons to whom the same maybe due, or by law ought to be paid unto, then this obligation to be Void, otherwise to remain in full form of _______ in Law.
