On this 28th day of January 1822 Personally appeared in Open Court (being a Court of record) having Common Jurisdictions with power of fine and Imprisonments for the County of Roane Cronamus ACRE aged Sixty one years Resident in said County Who being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath declare that he served in the Revolutionary War as follows to wit. He en1isted on the 7th Day of December 1776 for three years or during the Revolutionary War in Frederick County in the State of Maryland in the company Commanded by Jonathan MORRIS of the Regiment Commanded by Colon. John QUINBY in the line State of Maryland on the Continental Establishment that he continued to serve the said Corps or in the service of the United States until the 8th day of December 1779 - When he was discharged from service at North Westpoint State of New York that he was in the battle of Brandywine, Germantown & Staton Island. And my origina1 declaration was dated the 22nd day of September 1819 And the number of pension certificate is No. l5,27O and I do Solemnly Swear I was a Resident Citizen of the United States on the 18th day of March 1818 And that I have not since that time by gift sale or any part thereof disposed of my property or any part thereof with intent thereof so to diminish it as to bring myse1f within the provision of an act of Congress Entitled "an act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary War" passed on the 18th day of March 1818 And that I have not nor has any person in trust for me any property or Securities Contracts or debts due to me nor have I any income other then what is contained in the schedu1e hereto annexed and by me Subscribed my necessary wearing apparel and Bedding excepted.

He also declared that he had served as substitute for both Jonathan ADAMS and David ADAMS. He died 16 Jan 1842 leaving a widow (not named). A Stephen ADAMS was executor of his estate. His relationship to Jonathan, David and Stephen ADAMS was never stated. According to Vol. I, p. 14 of the Centennial Edition of the DAR Patriot Index, Part 1, p. 17, Micajah ADAMS, a private in the North Carolina Line, was born in 1759 in North Carolina, died 1842 in TN; married Elizabeth HOLSTON.

Be it remembered that on the 28th of October Eighteen hundred and twenty eight personally appeared in open Court it being a Court of Record for Roane County Bastin Allen aged eighty eight years who being duly sworn according to law Doth on his oath make the following declarations in order to obtain the provisions made by the acts of declarations in order to obtain the provisions made by the acts of Congress of the 18th of March 1818 and the first of May 1820 that he the said Bastin Allen enlisted for the term of two years in the year 1776 to the best of his knowledge in the State of South Carolina in the Company of Artillery Commanded by Capt. Moore in the line of the State of South Carolina on the Continental establishment that he does not recollect the Colonels name who commanded but that he was in Gen. Lincoln Bragade that he continued to serve in said corps during the two years of which he enlisted and that he then received his discharge from Colonel Brown he thinks but cannot recollect his discharge is now lost and cannot be found and that he has not received any pension that he was in the battle of Savanah and Gates defeat and Gen. DAVIDSONS battle at and in the battle of Little York in Virginia and that after receiving his Discharge enlisted again for the term of two years in the Company of Artillery Commanded by Capt. Davidson and in the bragade belonging to Gen. Lincoln as well as he can recollect that he continued to serve in said last mentioned Corps on the Continental establishment until the end of the year at which time he received his discharge but does recollect from whom which is now lost and cannot be found And in pursuance of an act of the first of May 1820 he solemnly swears that he was a resident of the (citizen) of the United States on the 18th day of March one thousand eighteen hundred and that he has not since that time by gift sale or in any other way disposed of his property or any part thereof with intent thereby to diminish it so to bring himself within the provisions of an act of congress entitled an act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service of the United States in the revolutionary war passed on the 18th day of March 1818 and that he has not nor has any person in trust for him any property or securities or contracts or debts due to him nor any income nor has he has any other property than that is contained in the Schedule hereto attached excepting his wearing apparel has a wife aged seventy seven years on child got no trade only a farmer and is old and infirm and blind and not able to work he further saith that he was a resident citizen of Campbell County and State of Tennessee in the year eighteen hundred and eighteen and has been every since until about eighteen months ago when he became a resident citizen of Roane County and state of Tennessee.
