ARCHIBALD LYTLE born Orange County, North Carolina, January 4, 1778; his father was killed at the battle of Brandywine during the Revolutionary War in September 1777; his mother then married John Nichols and the family moved near to Nashville, Tennessee; he graduated from the University of N.C. about 1801; married Martha Duke (died 1820), Warren Co., N.C.; after her death he married Elizabeth Cole, 1821. Methodist. Died Williamson Co., Tenn., January 12, 1855.
