DAVID BROWN advertised that in October 1835 the Williamson Co. Court had appointed him administrator of NATHANIEL BROWN's estate; he encouraged all persons with claims against this estate to file same promptly.

RICHARD I. MANNING, member of U.S. Congress, from South Carolina, died in Philadelphia, Pa., May 14, 1836, from a ruptured blood vessel.

MANNING, Richard Irvine, a Representative from South Carolina; born near Sumter, Sumter District, S.C., May 1, 1789; attended private schools, and was graduated from South Carolina College at Columbia in 1811; served as captain of Volunteers in the War of 1812; engaged in agricultural pursuits; member of the State house of representatives 1820-1822; served in the State senate 1822-1824; Governor of South Carolina 1824-1826; unsuccessful candidate for election in 1826 to the Twentieth Congress; elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-third Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of James Blair; reelected to the Twenty-fourth Congress and served from December 8, 1834, until his death in Philadelphia, Pa., May I, 1836; interment in Trinity Churchyard, Columbia., Richland County, S.C. [The obituary states MANNING died May 14, not May 1, 1836.]
