YOUNG CEMETERY
(Letbetter Cemetery)

Young Cemetery, February 2001

Young Cemetery is a well maintained cemetery located in the Lick Creek Valley of Perry County, Tennessee. It is labeled Ledbetter Cem. on the U.S.G.S. Pine View quadrangle. The cemetery is interesting because it probably has been in use continuously since the 1820s. In 2001 there were four rock cairns, about a dozen fieldstone marked graves, and a few unmarked graves. The cemetery extends about 20 yards west of the area being maintained in 2004 and there may be a few unmarked burials in this area.

David Donahue recorded Young Cemetery February 17, 2001 and checked it September 21, 2004. Mary (Stewart) Bowen and Melissa (Snyder) Bowen recorded the cemetery in the early 1990s. Their record appears in Mary Bowen's Perry County, Tennessee Cemetery Records (Vol. I). This earlier record is referred to as Bowen in the notes below.
