Born in Chatham Co., N.C. May 9, 1790
Died in Madison Co. , Tenn. Aug. 9. 1851
Energetic, strictly honest, liberal in his dealings with all mankind. A true patriot to his country, kind and sympathetic towards the distressed. a feeling Parent and devoted Husband.
Peace to his ashes.

JOHN HARGROVE BUTLER
son of Burwell & Lavinia R. BUTLER
Born July 22, 1827
Died June 28, 1860
Though unfortunate while on earth dear brother, we hope you are now singing the song of the redeemed in a better world.

Daughter of Dr. J. C. & M. A. ROGERS
Born Oct. 12. 1854
Died June 10, 1855
Kind Father take our dear babe within thy fond embrace;
And in that day of final rest, may we behold her face.

INFANT DAUGHTER

Died March 26, 1851
Aged 2 days
