WILLIAMS CEMETERY

Located in northeast Madison County. At a point .8 mile north from the junction of Law Road and Interstate 40, turn left (east) on Law Road into driveway of Eugene Howell. Situated on the left side of a field road .8 mile from Law Road, behind the Eugene Howell residence in a wooded area is located this burial ground covered with vinca. Although there is evidence of unmarked sunken graves here only two ruined box vault tombstones are present now in the cemetery. Copied by Jonathan Smith, August 10, 1996.

AMOS WILLIAMS, SR. B/Feb. 22,1790 D/Jan. 30, 1857 Aged 66 ys, 11 ms, 8 ds.

SARAH R.WILLIAMS B/October 1798 D/November 27,1852 Aged 63 ys

 

Sarah Williams' birth year is clearly inscribed 1798 on her tombstone, which conflicts with her age as given, 63, which would indicate birth in 1789.
