According to Miss Holmes, VALENTINE VANTREESE married SARAH GATES. Their grandson JOHN W. VANTREESE (son .of John and Tabitha in the above cemetery record) married MARY FLORENCE GATES (in the Gates Family Bible Record on Page 51). It is not known if the two Gates women were related.
