MT. OLIVET CEMETERY
(Northeast Section)

This section of Mt. Olivet Cemetery includes the area north of the southeast loop driveway and east of the middle loop, extending north to the woods. Kudzu has invaded this section from the northeast and in late 2003 occupied about a quarter of the area of this section. The number of markers covered by kudzu cannot be determined. There are dozens of burials within the kudzu covered area. Most markers reported on pages 15 and 18 of Jonathan Smith's 1995 record but not found in 2003 probably are somewhere within the kudzu field. David Donahue recorded this section of Mt. Olivet Cemetery December 13, 2003.
