HORN CEMETERY

Located just south of Lexington, Tennessee, about 3.5 miles from the courtsquare off Highway 22. Situated in a grove of trees about .5 mile southwest by a field road from this highway. This is a white-black cemetery. The black section is on the west side of the cemetery. No tombstones. Four sandstones still at graves but many graves are completely unmarked. Probably dates to antebellum period. The white lady, Jane C. Horn, has a fallen tombstone with her dates: May 11, 1822-May 14, 1892; along with several other nineteenth century tombstones, thereby indicating somewhat the considerable age of this burial ground.

Death certificates indicate burial here of:
VILA TRICE, died October 21, 1915, aged 70
HENRY PHELPS, died March 3, 1922, aged about 41
