LEONADUS RUSHING FAMILY

 

Leonadus Rushing (1837-1902). This scan was made directly from a charcoal portrait that was larger than the scan surface. The portrait, which has darkened with age, is based on a photograph. This portrait belonged to his daughter Hattie Rushing Tolley. Both portrait and photograph now belong to Hattie's daughter Louise Tolley.

Leonadus Rushing (1837-1902). The charcoal portrait exists in duplicate. This scan is made from a photographic print of the charcoal portrait, which was brightened by the photographer. This portrait belonged to Leonadus' daughter Sophie Rushing Moore and is now owned by Dorothy Yarbro.
