SLAVE CEMETERY

Located northwest of Parsons in the Rocky Springs Community, a slave graveyard on the Miller heirs property.

There are sandstone rocks on the side of the road — none upright as if they were placed to represent a grave. This means the road could have been made wider and destroyed the grave markers. No way to determine number of graves. Local resident tells of how frightened they were when they were children and had to walk by the graveyard (going to Rocky Springs School).

This cemetery was indexed by Margarett Alexander and Blanche Tuten on August 2, 1976. Thanks to Miss Edna Miller for her assistance in locating this graveyard.
